Synopsis: The V2V-MD Project encompassed work that covered the last three stages of the Safety Pilot program. The V2V-MD Project provided the first real-world Connected Vehicle (CV) environment to test V2V safety application systems. At its peak, the real-world V2V-MD Project environment consisted of approximately 2,800 cars, trucks, and buses configured to transmit Basic Safety Messages (BSM) Over-The-Air (OTA) based on Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC).
